Rodri made a significant move to Manchester City Football Club in July 2019. On July 4, 2019, Manchester City officially announced the acquisition of Rodri from Atletico Madrid, with the transfer fee reported to be around 70 million euros. Rodri signed a five-year contract with the English Premier League team. In the 2022-23 season, Rodri achieved great success with Manchester City, as the team secured the Triple Crown. This remarkable feat involved winning the Premier League title, the FA Cup, and the League Cup, showcasing the team's dominance across multiple competitions. In 2023, Rodri made his debut in the FA Cup final, where Manchester City emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over their local rivals, Manchester United, claiming the championship. Notably, Rodri etched his name in Manchester City's history by becoming the first player from the club to score in the final of a European Cup. His goal proved decisive as Manchester City defeated Inter Milan 1-0, securing the European Cup championship.

Rodri Plays in Spanish National Team

In the 2019/20 season, La Liga giant Real Madrid signed the 17-year-old Brazilian genius Rodrygo for 45 million euros.  In 2022, Rodri was selected for the Spanish national team's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In the third round of the World Cup group stage, Rodri completed 215 passes, setting a record for the number of passes in a single game by a World Cup player since statistics were collected in the 1966 World Cup. Rodri sent a total of 684 passes, 638 of which were successful, surpassing Xavi's passing record in a single World Cup. In the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League final, Rodri scored in the penalty shootout to help Spain defeat Croatia with a total score of 5-4 and win the championship. After the game, UEFA officially selected Rodri as the best player of the UEFA Nations League.

In 2024, Rodri will go to the 2024 European Cup in Germany with the team and win the 2024 European Football Championship with the team. Rodri successfully completed 58 passes in the opponent's half during the game, setting a new European Cup record. On July 1, in the 1/8 finals of the European Cup, Rodri scored and scored his first goal in the national team competition, helping Spain beat Georgia 4-1.
